Hi, Im already using permalinks to correct URL’s what would be the URL of the traditional blog page using permalinks?

Im meaning the dropdown menus in the administration area rather than on the site display side. Apologies if unclear.

I checked through the database and found that although I was creating a new WP table with my config file my hosting provider wont allow me to create new tables within the DB.

So yeah your right it was reading from the first install and redirecting.

I solved the problem just by creating an entirely new DB for the install.
