Well, I think we need those files really. Because, when page.php file called in wp theme, index.php file may not be called. So at that time, footer.php may be required.

Just replace “<div id=”site-description”><?php bloginfo( ‘description’ ); ?></div>”

with “<div id=”site-description”><h1><?php bloginfo( ‘description’ ); ?></h1></div>”

BUT IT IS IMPORTANT that the H1 tag font size will be different now. So, you may need to change the font style in css.

Also, you may need to remove the h1 tag for logo. Because, In SEO, i think there should be only one h1 tag.

You need to create “pages” only.

And if you have theme editing skills and little knowledge in CSS and PHP, you can definitely modify them not to use comments and other things and you can set the theme exactly as a web page and not as a blog site.
