Yes, same thing happened to me when I updated the plugin – the site went down/admin area too.
To fix, I had to log into the cpanel, and rename the plugin – this at least got the site back.
Will leave until the plugin author sorts out and won’t be upgrading it on any of our other sites.
Running latest WP; and server running latest php.
