Thank you. I really appreciate your feedback and recommendation. I will take a look at the plugin now.

Thank you seriousthings. All fixed now. BTW: I left the IP range on one of my multisites still in the “Ban User Agents” field – which I shouldn’t have and it shut down my entire network of 51 sites giving 403 forbidden errors. The hosting company fixed it and once I could get back in I deleted all content in the Ban User Agents field. I think the author should give some further instruction on this field.
I have added the IP address range into the “Ban Hosts” field so hopefully this will work. Thanks for redirecting me to the correct field. I mistakenly took the instruction above the Ban User Agents field for being the place where the IP address ranges should be entered….ooops, although now I am wondering what a “User Agent” is?
No zeros where added in the IP Address. I went in to re-enter the IP address range as you suggested 555.555.*.* (which is what I did originally anyway). I noticed that the “Ban User Agents” field now looks like this (I changed the real numbers with 555):
555\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\.555\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\*
Each time I click “Save Changes” it adds more back slashes – very odd, and I have not added any zeros.

In reply to: 3.8 Update is Terrible! Two plugins broke! The new 3.8 theme update is on the ugly side in my mind. I selected the light version to make it match as closely to the previous version but the font is chunky and I have to scroll down to see all my left sidebar options or I have to scroll down when I didn’t need to before in order to read the same amount of text/information. It is missing all the lines that defined areas and made it much easier to read the page in general. The widget area seems a little strange. I also have multiple multi-sites and don’t want to update those but feel I have to because I need to keep my plugins up to date. Overall it is just difficult to read the page – the theme seems a little overbearing which makes it distracting to work with. The old theme version is aesthetically much better.
Thank you for providing the theme options and I see a lot of thought has gone into it but I think it would be better to keep the font size the same as it was previously and bring back the faint lines that determined areas. Kind regards, Vicky J
I am having the same problem. I have checked the box for “Download and import file attachments” but no image attachments are importing and do not show in my media library either.
This function used to work fine but not now.

In reply to: [SendPress Newsletters] sendpress breaking bulk editingI have the same problem on 70+ sites. Thank you for correcting the issue. Look forward to the release.
I am having an issue with banned IP addresses still hitting my site multiple times a day. I once banned myself (just before the WordPress 3.6 update) and got a blank page with one line of error text (now resolved). Since the update banned users get a 403 error associated with hostgator – my host provider – but these IP addresses are still hitting my site multiple times a day. I have more than 5000 404 errors showing in the logs (I haven’t even launched the site yet). It appears to be the same 40 to 50 or so IP addresses showing up daily and the logs look really messy.
How can the IP addresses that I have banned stop showing up in the 404 log page so I can clearly see what new IP addresses are hitting the site?
