Thank you for your reply.
I was indeed taken back to the admin page and it gave me the message that I had successfully allowed the sending of emails but I still get the error message above.
I’m afraid I cannot do a screencast video as I have no idea how.
To add another strange twist, when I asked our server support to look into it for me, they successfully synched the Google mail account and did not have any errors at all.
At the moment I have had to roll back the site to an outdated version because of another issue.
