In reply to: [Longevity] Replacement double curve only showing on front pageHi and thank you for your response ??
Problem 1
I’ve managed to fix the curve on all pages by referring again to the thread in my post above. Please remove those first 2 links in your post from this thread as they are a temporary url and will not exist next week. The third one is fine as it will redirect and may help someone looking for the same answer.
Yes, that’s the site I hand coded about 8 years ago which I’m currently moving to the Longevity theme ?? The links work from the primary menu but I’ve left all the others as they should be once the servers are switched.
Problem 2
No, I don’t believe that’s the answer as I have pushed and pulled the header and curve settings to no avail. If you use the inspector or firebug, you can see there is a placeholder called “aside#page-banner” and there is code for it (3 lines I believe). But where is it coming from and how do I negate it?
Thanks again.

In reply to: Theme reinstall= “Installation failed: -1”Hi esmi
Thank you for the response. Yes Longevity is a current theme.I’ll try my host and if they’re no help I’ll load it manually. I just am wary that whatever is stopping the automatic load will cause a problem if I load through FTP.
Thanks again.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Deletion failed: The requested theme does not exist.Hi, I have the same problem trying to reinstall Longevity.
I installed it, decided I needed a child theme after I’d made some customizations so deleted the theme in order to start fresh.
However when I tried to Add Theme again (from depository) I get “Installation failed: -1” and the theme shows with update failed button.
So I tried to delete the theme showing and it gives the Deletion Failed message the same as the OP
I checked via FireFTP and there is no Longevity theme installed.
Any help appreciated.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Cannot change field after it is found invalidI am using a theme where the designer recommended CF7 and gives styling code for it – please see Circumference Lite instructions –
create-a-contact-page-like-the-demo-siteI am also using the CF7 Honeypot.
However in testing the form, I get the same problem described by the OP above. If I leave out a field, I get the yellow box invalid msg as well as red text under the field in error. However I cannot access the field to correct it unless I refresh the page.
Please see my sandbox siteAlso is text* supposed to put an asterisk next to the placeholder text so that it alerts the visitor to a required field? It would be a nice addition.
Thanks
Hi Ryan – thanks for the quick response.
I put in the asterisk and it does fail and ask me to verify but I have to refresh before I’m able to access the field to put in the correct information.
So I guess I’ll toddle over to the CF7 forum and read up ??
That would seem a bit heavy-handed and I don’t want the page layout you suggest.
For others who might run into this problem, what I did was add this to the child css-
.entry-content ul { overflow:hidden; }
Since this will affect all ULs, a better alternative is probably to put a class on that particular UL to target it more specifically.
Thanks anyway.
Hmmm… well I’ve added ‘overflow:hidden;’ to the ul but it’s having no effect so I’ll take this over the the theme support.
Thanks Cais.
Thank you for the response Benjamin. I do understand what you’re saying and that catering for many users with varying situations is difficult at the best of times.
LOL! No…. I have no intention of writing my own for this.
Ah! I see what you’re saying now. Thank you. You’ve definitely pointed me in the right direction. UL stacking order – unfortunately I won’t be able to get back to this until much later today.
No the cursor changes have nothing to do with either the theme or the CSS. My cursor changes when hovering over any link – system set (iMac)
Did you try it for yourself?
– click on the balloon and the Fancybox will open
– click on the word BOOKS and the Fancybox will open
– click on the boy and it won’tI didn’t know there was a shortcode, I used the instructions here
https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/singlepics/You can check the source via the web developer’s toolbar to ascertain whether the NGG code is what you would expect to see for that picture.
Thanks

It’s a great theme and I hope the non-profit I’m doing the website for will upgrade eventually.

Managed to fix this by deleting all the code in the form box and saving fields one at a time.

In reply to: Logged in-blank screenThe site has been up for 4 years. 1 plugin. No changes for 6 months – except for WP updates which haven’t been applied.
Since a new site will be deployed in a week or two and this is still running, I think I’m going to leave it alone.
Thanks anyway.
