This is digressing from the topic, but we have also come across strange and extremely inconvenient functioning: copypasting a long piece of text into a post resulted in a classic block (with the old toolbar on top), and after editing, saving and reopening the draft most of the block was simply missing! Fortunately, I was able to salvage most of the disappeared text (and editing) from older automatic saves.

I fully concur with @herbie888 here. We have used paragraph indentation a lot, so it is not a little used feature.

I find a lot of good in the block editor, but I cannot understand why the same functionality is not available in it as in the old, especially if implementing the feature in question here is not exactly rocket science, only a technical nuisance for end users.

Another feature I haven’t found in the new editor is the ability to prevent line separation for numbers, such as 20 000.

The problem seems to be that the front page does not have a title, and that is because it is the front page of the entire website and a visible page title was therefore not wanted (as it would also break the structure of the front page).

Why is the button shown on the front page in the first place, as I have not selected “All pages”, but only “All posts”?

In the FAQ it says that, to exclude specific pages or posts,

select “Exclude following pages and posts”, you’d notice a drop down menu. Please type in page or post name, drop down menu would display page or post, please select it through mouse or press enter. <end quote>

However, I don’t know the name of the frontpage of our website. Well, it is named “(ei otsikkoa) — Etusivu” in WP’s Pages list, but the “exclude page/post” text field won’t accept that.

“ei otsikkoa” is Finnish for “no title”.

The address of the page to be excluded is

I mean indenting entire paragraphs, not just first lines.

Ian, when I select “Change block type”, there is no Classic block option. So, I don’t seem to be able to indent text, which if true is a serious limitation.

Thank you very much, amboutwe! Your replies clarified the issue to me. It was good to know that everything is indeed working as specified.

Thank you, amboutwe. In that case, it is surprising that Facebook has started truncating the description so much. Even more surprising is that sometimes Facebook does not show the description at all, as with the post I published today – could you have a look?

(I shortened the very long link.)

Only the article image, the name of our website and the article heading are shown. That is why I had to manually add a descriptive text when posting the link on Facebook. I find this very strange.
