Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Call to undefined function: add_filter()Michael,
The plugin was made by Skriker and can be found here : https://fredfred.net/skriker/index.php/character-map
It’s a bit complicated for me to explain what it does in English. It opens a “character map” in an open window, where you can simply choose between all kinds of (weird but beautiful) character types.
As I asked him if he had a clue of what might be going wrong with my installation, the author of the plugin answered :
Yes, automatic detection of “stand-alone?? mode doesn’t work properly at your server…
Download the version 0.2 which has been improved in this detection.
The problem is, i cannot install 0.2 on my server. So it seems there’s no hope for me to use the plugin.
(By the way, could anybody explain to me what a “stand-alone” mode means.)
Thanks!
Véronique

so, no other solution
ok, fineForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: different template regarding to post id or date?ok, then, if not different theme, at least different style
i’ve just found this:
Date-Based Differences
If someone browses our site by date, let’s distinguish posts in different years by using different colors:
<?php
// this starts The Loop
if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
<h2 id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>">
<?php the_title(); ?></h2>
<small><?php the_time('F jS, Y') ?> <!-- by <?php the_author() ?> --></small><?php
// are we showing a date-based archive?
if (is_date())
{
if (date('Y') != get_the_date('Y'))
{
// this post was written in a previous year
// so let's style the content using the "oldentry" class
echo '<div class="oldentry">';
} else {
echo '<div class="entry">';
}
} else {
echo '<div class="entry">';
}
the_content('Read the rest of this entry ?');
?>

In reply to: is wp 1.5 still availableoh, ok, thanks
i found a version here:https://xavier.borderie.net/wp-fr/2005/10/13/wordpress-152-en-francais/
and installed it https://historyze.org/wordpress-1.5.2-fr_FR/wordpress/wp-admin/
any idea why i have no problem with 1.5.2 but cannot install 2.0 (though, it looks it must be a problem with my server, parma.pair.com, because i did not have the problem on other servers)

In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server Errorbrand new install 1.5.2 : everything is fine

I’ll try and let you know…

In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server ErrorOK. Great. Here’s the answer from parma:

Hello,
The information that you have sent, does not appear to necessarily apply to our setup. Our servers will not treat a script any differently if its filename starts with “nph.”
The problem could be occurring because you are using php-cgiwrap with this script (though in general, php-cgiwrap should be able to be used with no such problems). You could try disabling php-cgiwrap temporarily, and see if the script will work. This might mean that you have to modify some file permissions, however.
Regards,

I think I’d better give up…

In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server ErrorWell, thanks again. Interesting. Complicated.
Not using any plugin at all…
So, I’ve asked pair.com about non-parsed headers.
I’m a bit surprised that it worked fine with the previous version of WordPress and now it doesn’t work anymore. So, it might be an issue with WordPress 2.0.1.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server Errorso, that’s the reply from pair.com (see below). what do you think?
Hello,
The error being reported in the Apache log for this page is:
https://www.historyze.org [Thu Feb 2 15:08:02 2006] [error] malformed header from script. Bad header=HTTP/1.1 200 OK:
/usr/www/cgi-bin/php-cgiwrapApparently the first thing your script is outputting is “HTTP/1.1” or similar. In order to be correctly understood by the web server, you will need to have your script output:
Content-type: text/html
Unfortunately we cannot advise you how to actually make this change, as we are not able to offer specific support for content authoring.
Regards,

In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server Errorthanks for your question, but no
i still have the same error messageand i tried several themes
(now, i’ve just imported bunches of posts from my previous blog, admin is ok and db looks ok too)
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 2.0.1. and 500 Internal Server Errorhello,
i must add that i have 3 wp-blogs within the same database.
2 of them are built with version 1.5 (or something like that) and the 3rd one is built with wp latest version.i can easily add a 1.5 wp blog. it’s only version 2 that causes the 500 error.
two days ago, i created a 2.0 blog on another server and it worked perfectly fine.
so, it might be a problem with parma.pair.com (webhost)
sorry for my english
