  • Dear WordPressers,

I too love using WordPress. Usually, when I suddenly experience a problem out of the wild blue, it is because I just added or updated a plug in. In this case, I am not aware of changing anything. One minute I was happily editing pages, the nest minute I began to get a similar error to what these two WP users describe. In my case, the pages won’t update and I get a message saying: “This page can’t be displayed.” Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Fourlights,

Once again, thanks for your thoughtful and thorough reply. As you suggested, I disabled Gallery Custon Links and tested the other internal links uisng both smooth easy scroll and jquery smooth scroll. The links worked fine. In fact, otehr links are not much effected whether Gallery Custon Links is acivated or deactivated. Only the actual gallery links lose the smooth scroll effect.

So here is my present situation. In order to install an older version of Gallery Custom Links, I have to delete the current version. But if I do so will I then lose all of the custom links I have already enterred on a few hundred gallery images? Or is there some way to save those? Thanks for your help an dsupport on this.

Fourlights~ Thanks for your thoughtful and thorough reply. Just to add vital details, I am using WP twentyeleven theme. I had been working on a very complex four page gallery involving internal links to 200 plus images. I used jquery smooth scroll and Gallery Custom Links to design the gallery.

I had updated to WP 3.6 without any adverse impact to my site design whenever that update first came out. My gallery worked perfectly every time I tested it after completing numerous updates over a week or so of work. Just as I finished testing the last few images and links, the latest version of Gallery Custom Links came out. As soon as I updated it, my links began to scroll like a slot machine.

I tried using both jquery smooth scroll and easy smooth scroll links, the same thing happened. I also tried switching to twenty twelve and twenty thirteen themes, with the same results. I know there are ways to create smooth link code which would be fine, if this was simply a few images, rather than a few hundred. I will be adding more images as time goes by.

Bottom line, I LOVE your plugin. Without it, my galleries would not be possible. SO I will figure out some way to make it work. It is just that my galleries look so much more professional and when the links scroll smoothly rather than abruptly jump as they do now with the smooth scroll plugins deactivated. I would be happy to revert back to the previous version of Gallery Custom links or to find any other workable solution. Thanks again for your wonderful plugin and your valuable time.
