Thanks very much for your help. I think as you say the image is being distorted when displayed but I don’t know why and can’t seem to change it. I tried making an image that size (1000 x 92 pixels) but that didn’t work either. In the end I removed the ‘resize header’ plugin and just created a header to match the original header size for TwentyEleven theme. That has worked and the image is now clear, although much bigger than I want it to be but as a temporary solution it is ok (www.rasalabooks.com).
If anyone knows how to shrink the header AND retain image clarity (ie: not end up with the bug which makes your image display at 1000 x 92 pixels) please let me know…

    Hi David
Thanks very much for this. I added this code to my child theme style css and got a very clear header image BUT it also made the header shrink to about a third of the size of the old header so that there was a large white space on the right hand side of the header. When you say add to the style css do I need to add it in a certain place. My child style css has only the bare minimum, and I just added this code at the bottom of the document.
The other thing is that I am using the TwentyEleven theme resize header plugin which may affect it?
    Thanks again for your help.

sorry I forgot to note my site – it is https://www.rasalabooks.com

I am facing exactly the same issue. The header images that come with TwentyEleven look fine but when I upload my own image, ensuring that it fits the header size exactly, it is blurry. In Corel Draw it is fine and I then save it as a jpeg, but once on the site it becomes blurred and low quality. Can anybody help?
    Thank you

    Hi Dalton,
this promises to be a really useful plugin but I am not quite clear – can I change the physical size of the header on the page or only the resolution of the image. At the moment when I change the settings the resolution is the only thing that seems to change. I was hoping to make the banner on the page much smaller as it takes up so much room, especially when you have all that white space above it.
    Thanks

    Thanks Andrew, that worked perfectly.

I would also like to remove all comments boxes from my website (www.rasalabooks.com) and have unchecked ‘allow comments’ in the ‘discussion’ section under ‘settings’. I have also gone to the ‘screen options’ on individual pages and unchecked ‘discussion’ and ‘comments’ there. However, the ‘leave a reply’ box still appears at the bottom of every page.
Also several people have mentioned that you have to edit the php of the page. Can someone tell me how I do that?
    Thanks
