Hi there,
Thanks for your continued use of the plugin.
I did not close that ticket. Perhaps it has been closed automatically since there were no replies for many months.
In any case, I have added the basic statistics feature in the pro plugin where it collects number of times an episode is played and show daily, weekly or monthly charts.
However, I am not exactly aware how you are implementing the google tag manager with the plugin. I am also not sure about the triggers you mentioned. Can you inform how you are trying to integrate the two? We might be able to identify the issue and try to resolve this.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Podcast Player - Your Podcasting Companion] Episode image link invalidHi there,
Thanks for using the podcast player.
Please remove the following from the podcast player shortcode. It should resolve the issue.
cover_image_url='enter_custom_img_url'
It was in the demo shortcode and should be either removed or replaced with actual URL (If you want to change the cover image).
Inform me for any more help or explanation.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Podcast Player - Your Podcasting Companion] Use old Mediaelement JS.Hi there,
I have tested this. There is a minor issue with DIVI customizer using CSS to display the audio element. We need to add the following CSS to resolve the issue.
1. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer. Look for “Additional CSS” tab in the left sidebar. Click on it.
2. Copy and paste the following CSS in the left text field,
audio.pp-podcast-episode {
opacity: 0 !important;
}3. Click on the “Publish” or “Update” button on top of the left sidebar.
It should resolve the issue.
Inform me for any more help or explanation on this,
Thanks,

In reply to: [Podcast Player - Your Podcasting Companion] Use old Mediaelement JS.Hi there,
I tested your website. Turning off the option could help, but it will show broken player to your site visitors in the meantime.
Can you contact me on [email protected] so that we can setup a time to disable the option, I will quickly check and then you can enable the setting again?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Podcast Player - Your Podcasting Companion] Use old Mediaelement JS.Hi there,
Thanks for using the podcast player on your website.
Can you share the URL of the page where podcast player is displayed? I will check why this issue is occurring on your website?
Thanks,
Hi @rufustank
Have you tried the above solutions? Do you need any more help to resolve the issue?
Thanks,
As for you second query of the old podcast feed URL keeps coming back.
TLDR, First, kindly disable “Update podcasts using WP Cron.” setting from WordPress Dashboard > Podcast Player > Settings. Now, delete the old podcast feed. It should resolve the issue. If not, Can you please check there is some other shortcode or widget is still using the old podcast feed on your website.
Let me explain,
- Whenever your podcast display for the very first time on your website, the podcast player will fetch all the required podcast information from the podcast feed xml file (provided by your host).
- However, to prevent frequent unnecessary http requests and improve page load time, podcast player save this data on your website in the database. So that it don’t have to download the xml file every time the podcast player display.
- The ‘Refersh’ and ‘Delete’ buttons are to update or delete that stored data. This will not remove the podcast player from the page. If you have added the shortcode on any page, you will have to remove it or replace its feed URL.
In any case, feel free to contact me if you need any more help or explanation on this.
Thanks,
Hi there,
Thanks for using podcast player on your website.
I think you have copy pasted shortcode from the podcast player shortcode documentation page. Kindly remove the following from the shortcode.
cover_image_url='enter_custom_img_url'
Inform me for any more help or clarification on this.
