Thanks, Hector. This will help a lot of people, I’m sure.
Hector – How could I accomplish your first approach when using a framework (I use Genesis) and do not want to mod core genesis files.
Hector – My clients may be willing to pay you to prioritize this to get it working well on their site (which would most likely be able to help others who are having the problem as well). If you are interested, let me know how we can connect to talk about it in more detail.
Hector: I’m using WP Popular Posts 2.2.1 and W3 Total Cache. For some reason the WPPP page views are not updating. Is this a cache conflict with W3TC?
I tried updating to WPPP 2.3.0 but had problems and am a little concerned about updating to 2.3.2, but am willing to give it a go if you think updating will fix the problem. The weird thing is when I had WP Super Cache, it seemed like the page views updated just fine… but not with W3TC. I have to go with W3TC though, because of some other advanced caching things I plan to do in the future, so going back to WP Super Cache is not an option.
The site is: www. silver doctors . com (minus the spaces, of course).
@hcabrera – I’ll try your BP solution soon and get back to you on the results. Thanks for the research and possible fix.
@hcabrera – I updated the plugin to the wpp-2.3.1 version and I’m still having the problem that I mentioned above, which is when you click on an user link to take them to their BP profile, you get the following error:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘ ‘2012-09-02 13:05:25’, ‘2012-09-02 13:05:25′) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE last_view’ at line 1]

I have not yet installed the new version because I’m not sure if it will fix my problem or not. I have buddypress installed, and when I click on an post authors link, it should take the visitor to the authors buddypress profile page. Instead, when you click on the author’s link, this shows up:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' '2012-09-02 02:22:58', '2012-09-02 02:22:58') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE last_view' at line 1] INSERT INTO sd_popularpostsdata (postid, day, last_viewed) VALUES (, '2012-09-02 02:22:58', '2012-09-02 02:22:58') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE last_viewed = '2012-09-02 02:22:58', pageviews = pageviews + 1;
Is this fixed in the x.x.1 version, or is this something new that will need to be fixed?
I do want to say thank you for the plugin, though. It’s been great (up until this point) and like the previous poster said, shi* happens sometimes… but the speed and willingness to being responsive to fixing the issues appears to be amazing… something other developers should take note of.
I have the same problem – when pasting video URL using IE, the video shows as a link and doesn’t embed. I tried Marcel’s fix, but I don’t have anything close to the code he mentioned on or near aye-generate-embed-code.php line 441.
dartiss – do you have any tips? I should mention I’m using Version 2.5.6.
