As mentioned earlier, BuddyX is based on BuddyPress. If you already have a live site with Ultimate Member, there is no need to switch to the BuddyX theme as it will recreate the site using BuddyPress. You can continue using Ultimate Member if you prefer.

It’s not theme specific, you have to check with BuddyPress.org support , it’s little custom job for BuddyPress, DOB fields are saved as xProfile data using BuddyPress.

sorry we do not have any shortcode or widget to change avatar link, You can create it as link like domain-name.com/members/me/profile/change-avatar/

that link will send a logged in user directly to their edit avatar section.
