In reply to: Comments/Leave a Comment not appearing on blog posts anymore.Hi Steve- looks like you were correct about Disqus. I disabled the plugin and now the Comments section is working normally. I’ll keep testing things, but I think that was the problem.

In my recent experience, it’s a broken plugin and as shown in this thread Jordy Meow’s abrasive, unhelpful responses only make things worse. The following quote doesn’t come a quality, hard-working WP plugin developer:
“Stop saying that you uninstall, reinstall, tried overnight, tried for lunch, tried when the server was in the fridge or whatever, don’t you see what I am condescending? Because that doesn’t sound like you know what you are doing.”
Having a broken plugin is one thing. Attacking users who are asking for help using it is another thing completely. I’d vote this plugin 0/5 stars, if it were possible.

Your responses only prove why my one-star rating was appropriate. It isn’t just your time that “is valuable”. My time is valuable, and more importantly- so are my clients’.
What’s even more strange is that you even responded to a different 2-star reviewer by telling them, “You are not supposed to review a plugin without creating a support thread first.” which is exactly what I’ve done. Yet, you stated that this support thread is “a waste of time”. This leads me to believe that you aren’t interested in improving the plugin, and future users should take note of this.
And this issue isn’t “Resolved”, so I’d like to ask that you refrain from marking it as such. The files have yet to be deleted manually, which will take time. Moreover, you should leave room for the possibility that another WP Retina user might chime in with a solution to this problem. The WP Support community benefits most when all users are granted the option of providing support and feedback to their peers.
I’m very disappointed that this is the approach you’re taking. Good developers aspire to constantly improve their work instead of calling user complaints “a waste of time”.

I appreciate your response, however I don’t appreciate the condescending, unhelpful tone. I’m frustrated because the generated images are taking up a massive amount of space on my client’s hosting’s storage, and it’s restricting my client’s ability to manage their website in an easy, hassle-free manner. Because whenever the generated images take up all of the storage room, the website can’t load properly. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem provided that I can remove the plugin and all associated end-products from it, but since this isn’t the case my frustration is well-warranted.
And shifting the blame from your plugin to other “themes and strange plugins” isn’t very constructive. Especially since Bettermag, the theme that I’m using, specifically pre-packages your WP Retina 2x plugin into their installation file. Perhaps you should be discussing this issue with the Bettermag developers if you consider it to be a less-than-optimal theme to be using your plugin with. And your plugin is the only one that I’ve encountered ongoing problems with.
In either case, I’ll try your debugging suggestion. But if this type unhelpful “support” is what I can expect, I definitely won’t be inclined to recommend this plugin to any of my other clients. I’ll probably mention this issue to the Bettermag developers, because if your plugin isn’t meant to work with their setup they’d be diligent to remove it from their theme’s installation package.

I’ve been trying to use the Bulk delete function (the generated retina images are eating up my hosting space) but it freezes at 12% and locks up every time. How can I use this function without having it lock up?

In reply to: Google Analytics ID showing up in blog footer. How do I fix this?Fixed it! It was an issue with the theme’s BetterStudio plugin. There was a text field where I put an old Analytics ID# there. I just had to delete it. That was my error, but it’s all good now!

Cyndy- you’re incredible! That was the problem. I had the wrong emails indicated in those sections. Made the change, and now all is well. Problem solved. ??
