The fact is I already install and update my plugins using FTP.

But redownloading and reinstalling it with a better connection solved the problem.

Edit : after trying to re-upload the concerned files, the metadata box is appearing again.

I finally identified the origin of my problem : function.php was reverted to UTF-8 with BOM. I switch it back to UTF-8 without BOM (don’t know how it moved) and all plugins and native functionnality seems to work well now.

I have made other tests. When reverting to a default theme (twenty fifteen), the media library is back.

How can I investigate in ordre to locate what breaks the native functionnality in my template ? I think it’s function.php related, cause my template is based on a old theme.

I checked admin-ajax.php. The json list of image is still returned by the xhr call. But the list is not populating.

@sovrn : except that in the Search Everything Basic Configuration, there’s is no option for that.

I’ll be very interested too. For the moment on, I had to modify directly in the plugin, in order to deactivate search in content, but a GUI solution would be appreciated.

Same issue there. I tested all solutions mentionned above. The only difference I got is (since 4.5.1) that the image generate but need a lot of time to do so. That wasn’t the case before the 4.5 update.

And I don’t speak about 10Mo images, or 8000*8000px pictures in 300dpi, but of 160*240 pictures, less than 30Ko.

The plugin is still KO regarding my installation. Even if it was updated more than once since.

All my plugins are on their last version.

I first thought it could be a side effect of iTheme Security, but the problem is still here when i deactivate the plugin.

I find a workaround creating my own php script in order to export stored data for a form.

But I will be very plesed if someone find a way to correct the issue, or to help me find how to correct it, if the probleme is caused by something else than the plugin.

All of which is correct regarding my phpinfo().
