I’ve gone ahead and replaced core files, keeping /wp-content, wp-config.php and .htaccess files. The site is now running with deactivated plugins, but still unable to access wp-admin page. This is error showing:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ”cus’ (T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE) in /hermes/bosnacweb05/bosnacweb05ad/b2456/ipg.sitename/sitename/wp-admin/custom-background.php on line 269

Hey @diondesigns, thanks for your reply, really appreciated it. Can you advice what is the best way to to replace the core files? Is it just downloading the new wordpress files and replacing /wp-admin and /wp-includes as i have done before?

The support over at iPage did the same after I did it too. But it didn’t seem to fix it. Is this what you meant by core files replacement?

I can’t figure out what is causing this. Based on the error message, is it truly the theme issue?

Based on the theme, Homepage is set to “Home”, Post page is set to nothing.
https://folio.daratoe.com/works/ << this shows all of the posts. Currently it shows (All) as 13. but i have 14 posts, and the new one didn’t show up after the php update. So i’m pretty sure it isn’t the Reading Settings as i’ve also tried that ??

If i set the Post Page to “Home”, the page display wouldn’t be right. I also have 10 posts in the setting at the moment, but all 13 are displayed. Increasing it to 14 also didn’t make a difference. New post is just not showing. Any other insights ?

I’ve managed to locate the back up of the all the content in the uploads folder in the FTP and placed it in the wp-content/uploads folder but it still doesn’t seem to show up on the website.

File permissions for the folder is set to 755.

Is there any other reason why the images are still not showing?

Fixed it. Turns out I had neglected to point the domain to the right subdirectory. Thanks for your help, James!

Is it possible that I have to transfer my domain from GoDaddy to iPage? Would that be a necessary step to get the site up and running ?

Bought the domain directly from WordPress.com and hosted it on ipage

So i’ve tried to point the DNS to ipage name server as instructed and i get an email reading:

“The modifications you requested for the domain UPANDADRIFT.COM have failed.
Error: Object does not exist’

I also waited a day to try again but still no luck. Then when i log in wordpress and try to change the name servers again it has already automatically switched back to the “Use WordPress.com Name Servers ” check box instead of the ones i manually entered.

I’ve changed my DNS server on ipage to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com (it was previously ns1.ipage.com) and under Domain Management on wordpress the namer servers are ns1.wordpress.com. Did I do anything wrong ?
