Darn it – it just started working – I did nothing?
Maybe the provider hyad to flick a switch or something..

Thanks for the help. I’ll be back if it messes up again – for the life of me I don’t know what happened there.

    Thanks for getting back govpatel.

No – I don’t have such a file. If you click on the second link (in my first post) it actually takes you to a sub page of the site which displays just fine. It seems only the main URL is messed up. I can access posts if I type in the long URL to them directly. I can get into admin etc etc. The only thing that’s missing is the main page.

I am using Filezilla and have selected “force show hidden files” – but there are definately no index or default HTML files on any level of the domain.

Would a total re-install help? – I’m really lost with this one. I have installed wordpress over 300 times to sites hosted all over the world in the past 4 years (mostly fantastico or similar but dozens of FTP installs as well) never had anything like this happen before.

    Tnanks again

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I only have one index.php and that’s in the htdocs folder along with the rest of the wordpress install.
The top level (/) has two folders

cgi-bin (empty) and htdocs which contains the wordpress installation.

    Any help would be fantastic.

Totally stopped working on all my blogs after 2.9.2
I do have other plugins installed, but they are all required. No point turning them off, I will only have to turn them back on again.
Spinning wheel error (not sending mail) It has worked for years on all my blogs. I use SMTP plugin (and the test mails from that work fine) but CF7 has just stopped working
Shame, I’d used cf7 for years on over 40 blogs, now changed to another system (took me two days to do the lot)
    Oh well
