In reply to: Looking for the perfect theme for Cooking Lessons@alcercos It is very hard to recommend a particular theme or plugin, as everyone’s personal tastes are different. You need to decide which one fits your needs best.

@pakketjeblijheid There is not really a way to get more info about the hack (if that was the case), because unless you have a plugin, WordPress doesn’t log anything about logins, changes etc.
In terms of restoring the backups, you should contact the Jetpack team for help.
The reason your site might have been hacked was probably due to automated bots. It’s a perfectly normal thing to happen to WordPress sites — Bots try to guess the password. It even happens to me (the bots haven’t cracked my password though). You would have either had very weak passwords, or the bots got super lucky. If you are/were running an outdated version of WordPress, that could be to blame.

In reply to: Things to do before granting admin access to supportNo matter what, it’s best not to share your admin password to anyone. If you really need to share it, there’s not much you can do, because it is, after all, the admin user.

In reply to: Debug@623carr, the www.remarpro.com forum is not really the place to ask, as technically it’s 3rd party software. It’s best just to wait for the WooCommerce team to help.

In reply to: Unable to remove sidebar widget blockFirst, try what @sallyinstc mentioned. If your theme’s developers can’t/won’t help, it is possible to manually edit the PHP yourself. Go to appearance >> customize themes >> then click on the sidebar/widgets option.

Your website was probably hacked, and the S.Q.L. database was cleared. There’s really not very much you can do in this situation, apart from what @jnashhawkins said.

In reply to: template@cloudyman20 you would have to hand code/edit an existing theme’s PHP. Be careful when copying other people’s content — Copyright laws.

In reply to: move comment section right under every blog postThis is entirely down to your theme. Option 1: You will likely be able to find a plugin. Option 2: Contact the theme’s developers.

In reply to: Need theme with landing page that is only a clickable logoI don’t think that you’d be able to find a theme as basic as that. Landing pages like that haven’t really been used since the early days of the web. Your best bet is probably to find a simple theme and edit the PHP, but other than that there’s not many options.

In reply to: How to check what wordpress plan i have?www.remarpro.com does not have plans — It’s just one universal open source C.M.S. As @jdembowski mentioned, WordPress.com does, so use the link they provided.

In reply to: Image deleted but not recognised as suchAre you sure it’s not a cache issue? If you’ve cleared your browser cache and the image is still there, it could be a server-side problem. Are you using a context delivery network (CDN) like Cloudflare? Is so, that’s probably to blame. If you’re not using a CDN, many web hosting companies cache the data, especially if you’re using managed WordPress hosting.

In reply to: Homepage not found@techgreyeye You’re welcome ??. Yes, just remember in future that you have to choose between your own code and a CMS like WordPress. They don’t work together. ??
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Homepage not found@techgreyeye It’s probably because both of the files are ‘index’ files. When someone visits your website, the web server looks for an ‘index’ file in the root directory to display to the user. Having two ‘index’ files is problematic, because the server doesn’t know what one to display. You could add your custom ‘index.html’ file to a subdirectory. So it’s ‘[yourdomain.tld]/downloads/index.html’. You could remove ‘index.php’ and just have your ‘index.html’ in the root directory, but that would mess up WordPress, so it’s not recommended.
