The problem appeared to be that the wp-content/uploads folder belonged to root, not apache. Once I fixed that I could import my site including wpforo.
However, I did not create this folder and after installing WordPress I changed the owner to apache:apache on the entire filesystem tree. Could it be that this folder was created by the plugin during import? But how could it belong to root then?

In reply to: [Blocksy] Custom Post Type stopped workingHello @creativethemeshq ,
I would have to give you admin access, which is problematic in this case. But here are two screenshots from my Admin UI:

In reply to: [Blocksy] Custom Post Type stopped working@creativethemeshq ,
I’ve not done anything outside of the normal WordPress UI. I created the CPT months ago via the Getwid CPT block. They have a video explaining the process (start at around 4:00 minutes):After I created the CPT this way, I forgot all about it. The only time I noticed that something is wrong is after I upgraded Blocksy. Suddenly the posts looked ugly and when I investigated, I found that the CPT was gone. At first I did not think that the Blocksy upgrade had anything to do with it, but then I found the release notes I quoted above and saw that Blocksy did indeed make some changes in that area.
Now, if you’re saying that Blocksy could not possibly have deleted or overwritten the CPT, that’s fine with me. I just wanted to report a possible problem.
However, if I understand the release notes right, then I should be able to manage the CPT I created via the Getwid CPT block in the customizer. But it doesn’t show up there, so I assume that Blocksy relies on something that Getwid doesn’t provide. I was hoping you could tell me what that is and I could take that to the Getwid guys and ask them to implement it.

In reply to: [Blocksy] Custom Post Type stopped workingHi @creativethemeshq ,
this seems to be a catch-22. You don’t know what Getwid does and the Getwid guys don’t know what Blocksy does. You say that CPTs created by other plugins work fine with Blocksy, they say that their CPTs work fine with other themes.
I don’t know anything – neither how Blocksy works, nor how Getwid works. So I cannot solve this.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Blocksy] Custom Post Type stopped workingHello @cteduard
The CPT is gone, so any slug it might have had, is gone as well.
I have now found that the “Custom Post Type” block I was using is not a WordPress standard block, but a Getwid block. Sorry for not mentioning this in the first place, I wasn’t aware of that. Looking at the Getwid CPT block, there seems to be no option to set a slug.
Seeing that this is a Getwid block, it may not be a Blocksy question after all. But I do wonder why I don’t have the options panel for the CPT.

In reply to: [Blocksy] Mobile Header in Desktop View on certain PagesOk, so in the free version I cannot have different headers for different pages? Fair enough, there has got to be some advantage to the paid version. I’d have already bought it three times over, if only it were possible to use it in a GDPR compliant way (no callbacks to 3rd parties outside the EU, i. e. Freemius).

In reply to: [Blocksy] Background Image in Header in CSSYes, I use the File strategy. Thank you very much for the explanation how things work. This is completely fine for me, if just saving the Customizer will regenerate the global.css file.
Thank you very much for pointing me to the FAQs, but I have already found them before and tried those suggestions. So I suppose that my options are now exhausted with respect to Duplicator.
Anyway, thanks for providing a free product, which surely works for many sites. In my case I reckon if I have to delve into the WordPress internals to fix stuff, I’m probably better off to do my migration by hand and then have full control over what happens.
Kind regards,
UlrichI forgot to mention that I did already try to re-save the permalink options, to no avail.

In reply to: [Getwid - Gutenberg Blocks] Image Slider “scale to fit”Yes, that is exactly what I had in mind. Thank you very much, now the slider makes a lot of sense for my application.

In reply to: [Blocksy] Header Max Height parametersI have this setting on 300px on my site and that is just about enough. But for other designs it would not be enough like on this page:

In reply to: [Getwid - Gutenberg Blocks] Image Slider “scale to fit”I have not found where to set the image ratio in the Image Slider block. Are you talking about the “Image Fit” option?

In reply to: [Blocksy] Featured Image in Posts (Portrait vs. Landscape)For the benefit of others, I believe that it is not possible to set the aspect ratio of a single featured image.
To be sure, it *is* possible to set a certain aspect ratio for *all* featured images within the Blocksy customizer. But if you have a mixture of portrait and landscape images, you’re out of luck.
The reasoning seems to be that the “featured image” isn’t necessarily meant to be shown as part of post’s content. Some themes (like Blocksy) will allow that, but the normal way to use featured images is simply as “post thumbnails” for overview pages. On those pages WordPress may generate a grid or a list of posts and so all thumbnails need to have a similar aspect ratio, otherwise the overview page won’t look good.
Therefore, what I will do is define for myself a standard size and aspect ratio for my featured images according to how they would look good on my overview pages. But I will not include the featured images automatically into the post content. Rather, I’ll put them in manually via the Gutenberg editor. It might seem a bit wasteful to have an image twice, once as a featured image and once within the post content, but that will allow me to resize and reposition the image as desired. For example, I could let the text flow around a portrait image, while letting a landscape image take full width.

In reply to: [Blocksy] Featured Image in Posts (Portrait vs. Landscape)What I mean is that they should be the same size as landscape images. A landscape image of 750×300 pixels is displayed just like that. But a portrait image of 300×750 pixels is blown up to 750×1875 pixels! It is four times the size of the landscape image.
