In that case your countdown is different on every timezone. For example in Europe your count expire in one hour and other places expire in more hours or is already expired.

Just add this to your theme css file: .countdown_amount { font-size: ? px }

You can try to add background-image properties to this class: countdown_amount. Is the <span> container class.
IE not support linear gradient like other browser ??
It works in excerpt. If your theme excerpt do shortcode than will work.
