In reply to: Trying to "add user" in phpmyadminMy god, I got it installed.
Adding a user was not the problem after all, it was the wp-config file.
I re-uploaded wp-config-sample.php to:
zamborination.com/domains/www/
and then I was able to run the install script for wordpress.
My hosting provider has it set for that weird location.
What I’m wondering now is, will I be able to put my main website in
the root directory?Sorry, I’m a total beginner.
Thanks everyone for your help.

In reply to: Trying to "add user" in phpmyadmin@leejosepho, I can’t run the install script. I get his message:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running? If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

In reply to: should I install wordpress to the www folder?Hi,
I didn’t see any /www/ folder. All it had was “/”, and two folders named: domains, and subdom
That was it.
That’s why I created a www folder on my computer, copied the unzipped wordpress files to the www folder, and am now uploading the whole thing.
But I’m concerned it’s a mistake.
