I checked the plugin’s changelog and found this:

5.3.9
Fix: address fields trigger shipping total change
Fix: make sure guest users include their email in order to download products

Could it be because of that? Our business does not sell any digital product and we don’t need the download tab in “My Account” menu. Therefore, we don’t require guests to give their email during checkout process.

I created a new WooCommerce website without any plugins or custom scripts other than the latest version of WooCommerce (5.9.0), Checkout Fields Manager (5.5.1), and WordPress (5.8.2). I am also using the latest version of Storefront Theme.

I made all the checkout fields to be optional using your plugin (https://snipboard.io/pEwyco.jpg), but the email field is still required as you can see here https://snipboard.io/Mcb86n.jpg
