What do you think of the “announcement” post under the featured post? do you think I should have a full box around it like the other posts? or do you like it the way it is?

I modified this plugin so it shows the top 5 (or what ever) latest feeds that were posted too. it also shows the number of posts on each feed.

if anyone is interested I can spend a few minutes cleaning up the plugin code so it can be easily used by others.

oh and as for K2 I like that theme alot I used it (slightly modded) for https://www.dirthigh.com my mountain biking clubs website.

Thanks samboll, it is nice to know people like the theme.

But what I really want to hear are things that people think would make the site better! Maybe even something like a more open invitation to contribute. As you can see I have no ads on the page so I am not doing it for money, I just want to have a site where people will want to come to talk about or discuss – well pretty much anything.. That is why I added the forum. Alas, it is taking some time for usership to increase.

How do you think I can get people on the site and talking faster??

Sure part of that is design, and part usability, but there must be something else… lol maybe just more time!

What do you think I need to add, what would make you more likely to join the conversations (open question to everyone)

One of the things I have considered adding is a way to make it easy for people to submit questions or discussion topics they are curious about. Then I or one of my contributors could do an article on it. Something like straightdope.com except a much higher level of communication. I am just not 100% sure of the best way to do this! (I think it would go under the featured post though) what do you think??

I am sorry you may be insulted, but freedom of speech is necessary for a free society. Although the images up on my site are for information purposes, publishing them to make a statement is completely acceptable in my books as well.

On my site they are to show what all this fuss is about, and how pathetic these riots, threats, government actions, and burnings of embassies are.

This is not the place to discuss the content though, if you would like to leave a comment on that please feel free to utilize the comments section, and or the forum, on ourtake.net.

Thanks for the heads up but I can’t find the problem,

where are you seeing it? With which browser?

Well, You have to make the category image
and then upload it as cat#.gif where # is the category number.

but if there is no image for the category it will automatically use the “general” image, but the link will still go to the proper category.

I explored the possibility of using JavaScript to create the image, but I decided against that when I realized how much work it would be.
