I have to agree with hasf unfortunately. It’s a bug

For me it’s the other way around. The main WP installation is on a https domain, but the mapped sites are on a http domain.

All images that are uploaded are not mapped by using this plugin.

Is there another way to fix the mapping?

Look into your style.css file

Change

#content .post a img {
}

Into

#content .post a img {
    max-width: 100%;
}

That should solve the problem
