Hi Chris,
Yes, I suspected caches too, so it was the first thing I tried. I cleared the cache of the plugin we use (WP Fastest Cache) and purged everything from Cloudflare, but it didn’t change anything. I still get those two error messages from Google Tag Assistant, unless I sign in to WP and then everything is fine.
There are also a few js settings in WP Fastest Cache so I tried turning those off to test if they could be affecting your plugin – but, again, no change.
I’ve also had Monster Insights installed for a long time (even back to when it was Yoast) without any problems – until the last two updates.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Barry

Update:
If I remove ‘Editor’ and ‘Administrator’ from the ‘Ignore these user roles from tracking’ settings then the GA code tracks fine when I’m signed into WordPress but fails when I’m signed out.
Hi again,
Just a quick update in case anyone else ever comes across this situation…
It was the “Render Blocking Js” setting which needed to be switched off in WP Fastest Cache. Both of the combine & minify JS settings can be left switched on without affecting the GA code.
Thanks!
Hi Chris,
Thanks for that, and, yes, you are right that we are using WP Fastest Cache with that setting turned on. Not really sure that we want to turn it off though if it’s going to slow us down…
I’ll message the guy from WPFC to see what he has to say – but mark this as resolved if you like.
Cheers!

Pretty sure this was a problem with Google Analytics, not this plugin. We also saw that error message in GA across a few of our different web properties today, but only one of them had this plugin active.
As I write, the error message has disappeared from all of the GA properties we have access to, so hopefully the problem will be resolved for you too very soon…
We had the same problem – and it is something to do with the slider. We’ve added the slider back in temporarily and everything looks better from a user perspective.
Not ideal, because we’d rather not have the slider for load time reasons – but at least it’s a workaround until there’s a fix.

In reply to: [Booking.com Official Search Box] Preset Destination By TaxonomyGreat! Much appreciated – even if it’s not possible ??

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the options@sol – No problem – and good to know that we shouldn’t be seeing anything at the moment anyway because of the mis-match reason.
It’s looking good going forward!
Thanks guys ??

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the optionsYes, of course that’s working, but, as mentioned above – that’s on our main site (a Blogger site which we are transitioning to WordPress from at the moment). So it’s quite obviously not the WordPress plugin we are using there – it’s the normal Smart Layer code that we copied and pasted to Blogger rather than any plugin for WP!
We said above that the problem with the plugin was on our test site here: https://205.186.130.199/
Whether the code is working on our current Blogger site is quite irrelevant to this thread surely…

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the optionsSorry, the What’s next / Recommended is still not showing for us – but probably for the reasons you and we both mentioned above (ie no traffic because it’s a test site…)
We’ll be more than happy to give a good review and rating once we are live and getting decent traffic and everything is working properly though.
Either way – we’re certainly happy with you for just the support in the meantime…
Great work, keep it up!

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the optionsMakes sense. It’s a test site for our transition from Blogger to WP, so it won’t be getting any traffic. But good to know it will work when we go live.
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the optionsThat’s definitely sorted the follow buttons for us thanks Srijith – but still no “What’s Next” or “Recommended Content” at the moment…
If you can confirm that issue is because we have only one test post (although we have quite a few test “pages”) – or that it will still take 24 hours or so for crawling – then we’re happy that it’s fixed.
If you need to test that also, then let me know and I’ll add a few more blogposts.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the options@srijith: Great, thanks.

In reply to: [Smart Layers by AddThis] Does not save the optionsWe’re having the same problem with the WYSIWYG – the settings won’t save even though we do get the confirmation “Settings saved” at the top.
We’ve tried in Chrome & IE with the same results – and we’re using WP 3.6.1
It’s on a test site here: https://205.186.130.199/
The share buttons appear at the left but there are no follow buttons, what’s next or recommended content (although the last one might not appear because there is only one test blogpost on the site maybe?)
I’ll probably use the API editor when I get a bit more time – but those are the details if you want to have a look into it.
