In reply to: [Ultimate Post Type Manager] Ultimate Post Type Manager – WordPress 3.1I am the admin and the only user.
I was getting the error message whenever I used the post and page editing windows as well as whenever I wanted to edit links, add categories, install plugins, change widgets, etc or any other function that required an admin command.
There are others from other forums who are also reporting similar symptoms, including sitewide crashes, deleted files, missing categories, inability to log in, etc, and only since the upgrade to 3.1.

In reply to: [Ultimate Post Type Manager] Ultimate Post Type Manager – WordPress 3.1I’m not using a plugin. I’m getting “You are not allowed” this or “You are not allowed” that error messages on a virgin install of the WordPress core files.
At another forum, there are people telling the same thing regardless of plugin used or functions being performed.
It’s a problem with WordPress 3.1, plugins notwithstanding.

In reply to: [Ultimate Post Type Manager] Ultimate Post Type Manager – WordPress 3.1Interesting. What is Magic Fields?
Anyway, the problem here has to do with WordPress user privileges which is system-wide. I don’t think a plug-in of any kind will help. The core code has to be fixed (maybe post.php?).

In reply to: [Ultimate Post Type Manager] Ultimate Post Type Manager – WordPress 3.1Because I think it is a user privilege issue, I wouldn’t touch a fix with a ten foot pole unless it came from a developer or a few dozen guinea pigs.
As I see the problem, WordPress is demoting the admin to a guest or registered subscriber status.

In reply to: [Ultimate Post Type Manager] Ultimate Post Type Manager – WordPress 3.1I am sozzledboot but I had to re-register because this forum forgot my password but remembered my username.
Anyway, the solution I found was to uninstall everything and go back to WordPress 3.0.5 obtainable from the Release Archive.
