    Hello @entumas,

    The recent update should resolve the 2FA issue. I conducted several tests but was unable to replicate the issue using the latest version of the plugin, 1.4.12.

    I recommend ensuring that the plugin has been updated successfully to version 1.4.12 on the websites in question and then testing it again. If you’ve modified the admin login page URL using a third-party plugin, please disable it, as such configurations can conflict with the 2FA. Instead, use the Custom Login URL feature available through Security Optimizer.

    In case the 2FA issue persists, feel free to re-open this thread and provide us with the exact error message and your WordPress version. Additionally, any details about your website’s setup, especially if it’s custom-configured, could be useful for further troubleshooting.

    Thank you for the update, Torsten.

    Based on the tests you’ve performed, it appears that the issue may be related to the website’s theme. I conducted a few additional tests with the theme’s extensions activated and adjusted the theme settings, yet I was unable to replicate the issue.

    Should you succeed in replicating the issue on the staging website, I suggest examining whether any custom configurations within the theme settings or extensions might be conflicting with the plugin.

    If the issue does not occur on the staging website, it may be worthwhile to consult with your hosting provider’s support team to investigate any unusual behaviors or specific hosting configurations that might affect the live website.

    Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you require any additional assistance.

    Hello @torsten3d,

    The trace log indicates that the error occurred during a login attempt, and it seems to happen sporadically. At present, the wp-admin page of the specified website is functioning correctly, and I was unable to replicate the issue using the latest version of WordPress.

    It’s possible that a component of your website is conflicting with the Security Optimizer. My advice is to temporarily deactivate your other website plugins one by one, testing the login process after each deactivation while keeping the Security Optimizer plugin active. Should the error continue even with all other plugins disabled, try switching to the default WordPress theme for further testing. This approach will assist you in pinpointing the component that is causing the conflict. Once you identify the problematic plugin, I recommend reviewing its settings to ensure there are no overlapping features or configurations that might be causing interference with Security Optimizer.

    If you need any further assistance from our side, feel free to re-open this thread.

    Hello @mikejpr,

    All sections of the plugin have been translated into the supported languages. If the menus are not displaying the correct translations, it’s likely that the translation files for Security Optimizer are missing from the wp-content/languages/plugins directory.

    I recommend deleting any leftover files related to Security Optimizer in the wp-content/languages/plugins directory. Look for files beginning with “sg-security-” followed by the language locale code. After clearing the files, change the language settings to English and then revert back to your preferred language in the WordPress admin area (WP-admin -> Settings -> General -> Site Language), and trigger the WordPress wp_version_check cron event to regenerate the required translation files. You can do this using a plugin or wp-cli.

    If the translations continue to be absent from any section of the plugin, I recommend checking whether your website’s cron job is working correctly and verifying that the plugin has adequate permissions to write to the wp-content/languages/plugins. If you are a SiteGround customer, I suggest reaching out to our support team through the provided channels for further assistance.

    Hello @joshdb,

    After reviewing the support thread, it seems the issue may indeed be related to the way scripts are being loaded. To delve deeper into the problem, please reactivate the plugin and then disable the “Defer Render-blocking JavaScript” option in the Speed Optimizer. You can find this setting by navigating to WP-admin -> Speed Optimizer -> Frontend -> JavaScript. Afterward, clear both the website and server-side caches and conduct another test. If the issue persists even with this feature turned off, please disable the combine and minify JavaScript optimizations and test once more. Additionally, could you please provide us what the jQuery script examples from the other thread look like when the plugin is deactivated?

    Our plugin provides a variety of Media optimization features, one of which is Lazy Load. You can find more information about the Media Optimization options available here:
    https://siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/speed-optimizer/image-optimizations/

    Conducting these tests will help us narrow down the issue. Once you have completed the above tests, please update this thread, and we will continue our investigation.

    Hello @samovaari,

    Speed Optimizer and WooCommerce plugin suite are compatible, and settings within the Speed Optimizer plugin should not trigger timeouts. Possible causes for these unusual timeouts could be related to a corrupted database, slow external requests, theme/website configuration conflicts, etc.

    A good approach would be to examine the WordPress error logs and server logs for any indications of what might be causing the issue. Temporarily switching your website’s theme to a default WordPress theme to determine if the timeouts persist. Also, review any recent changes made to the application that could be contributing factors.

    Currently, the Store page of your website is accessible, and I’ve noticed that some options from the Speed Optimizer are active on the page. I am not certain whether you have resolved the issue on your own. While I can provide general advice for addressing these issues, please note that a detailed investigation of such timeouts would require access to the application, should you continue to encounter problems. This would allow for tracing the script that is timing out more accurately (please refrain from sharing any sensitive information here, as this is a public forum). In such scenarios, the support team of your hosting provider should be equipped to provide you with assistance. If you are a SiteGround customer, I suggest reaching out to our support team through the available support channels, enabling us to closely examine your website’s specific setup and provide tailored assistance.

    Hello @seraphim,

    Given the limited information at hand, I am afraid that I am unable to offer more specific guidance on what might be causing the issue. Generally, you should be able to transfer websites from DreamHost using our plugin without difficulty. I suggest ensuring that the file and directory permissions for all your websites are set correctly, there is sufficient disk space on the account for an archive to be created and verifying that there are no firewall or security restrictions on the remote server that could interfere with the connection. Additionally, you can examine the migration logs for specific details on the migration failure, which are located at /wp-content/siteground-migrator.log.

    If you are unable to determine the precise cause of the migration failure, please reach out to our support team through the available channels, and we will be happy to assist you in identifying the underlying issue.

    Hello @rfischmann,

    Such errors typically arise when there’s a conflict with other plugins or the website theme. To identify the exact plugin that’s interfering with Speed Optimizer, you’ll need to temporarily disable your other website plugins one at a time, testing the Speed Optimizer settings after each deactivation. If the error persists even after disabling all the plugins, consider switching to the default WordPress theme and testing again.

    Once you’ve identified the problematic component, please provide us with its name, and we’ll investigate this unusual behavior further.

    Hello @klishb,

    The Automatic Purge feature looks for specific WordPress hooks, and based on the triggered hook, it will perform full cache purge or a smart flush.

    While I’m not familiar with the inner workings of the menu management plugin, but I suspect that it’s most likely not utilizing the standard hooks when updating the menu, thus the Automatic purge is not triggered.

    By default, Dynamic cache is enabled and operational on all SiteGround servers. If the application sends the appropriate headers to permit caching, the system will cache the content accordingly. You have the option to completely disable the server-side cache for your WordPress website using our plugin or .htaccess rules. More details can be found here.

    I believe that at some point, the affected pages of your website began returning different headers, which instructed the system to cache the page. It’s possible that updated configuration of some website components led to this change.

    Hello @generosus,

    We greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

    The security of our clients is one of our top priorities. Keeping all WordPress components up-to-date is vital, as new versions deliver crucial security updates and performance enhancements. Both plugins are designed to run a quick check if all website components are running on the latest available versions and if any outdated plugins are detected, a notification is promptly displayed in the plugin’s section. In this manner, even if someone is solely utilizing the Speed Optimizer, they can still benefit from this feature. The additional check should not influence the overall performance of the admin area, yet the benefits it provides could be notably substantial for a webmaster.

    Hello @vintagefilm,

    I am sorry to hear you had issues with the image compression feature.

    The visual change in quality should be practically non-detectable with the algorithm we use. However, the image optimization feature also provides you with the capability to adjust the compression level to your preference. If you encounter issues with the compression, you can try using one of the lower compression levels.

    The plugin additionally provides the option to create backups of all original images. This will create a copy of the source image before the optimization process begins, enabling you to effortlessly adjust the compression levels in the future or restore the images to their original state.

    Hello @eip,

    I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the plugin and thank you for your feedback.

    Our approach has always been to maintain simplicity and efficiency, ensuring that all plugin optimizations function seamlessly right out of the box. However, there may be instances where the plugin interferes with other components of your website, requiring additional adjustments to the plugin settings.

    If you’re utilizing another performance plugin, I would advise deactivating it. Certain themes also come equipped with performance enhancement features that could potentially conflict with our plugin’s optimization capabilities. If your theme includes such features, consider disabling them as well and then run another performance test on your website.

    We address all issues reported in the forum. If you need any assistance from our team feel free to open a thread and we will further look into this.

    Alternatively, if you are a SiteGround customer, feel free to contact our Technical Support team and we will provide you with further assistance.

    The code snippets are correct and as far as I can see from my tests so far, they work as expected. The Quick & Easy FAQs JS scripts were successfully excluded from the combine and minify JS features of our plugin.

    The problem indeed appears to be cache related. What I can suggest you is to flush all of the browsing data related to the website in your Chrome browser and to try again.

    Hello @rosbiffer,

    The note in the sticky post refers to the JS/CSS minification. There is no need to have the combine JS/CSS feature off when you want to exclude scripts from the minification.

    That said, you should be able to exclude the Quick & Easy FAQs JS script from the combine option using the following filter:

    add_filter( 'sgo_javascript_combine_exclude', 'js_combine_exclude' );
    function js_combine_exclude( $exclude_list ) {
        $exclude_list[] = 'quick-and-easy-faqs';

        return $exclude_list;
    }

    You can add this code snippet to the functions.php file of the currently active theme. Just make sure to clear your browser, SiteGround Optimizer and server side cache(if you are a SiteGround customer you can flush the server side cache from Site Tools -> Speed -> Caching) once you include the code and test again.

    In case you are still experiencing issues, my recommendation is to check for any other scripts which might interfere with the JS combine option and exclude them as well. If you are a SiteGround customer, feel free to contact our Technical Support team from the Help Desk section of your Client Area and we will further look into this.

    Hello @stargirluae,

    The notification in the admin dashboard is designed to notify you when our plugin detects duplicate functionalities with other plugins installed on your site. In your case, there is another caching plugin, thus the notice was visible on the admin page. Having two or more caching plugins is something we do not recommend, as it may actually decrease your site’s performance and lead to other issues. What we recommend is to use a single caching plugin.

    With that said, such errors usually occur when there is a conflict with other plugins. In order to find which exact plugin interferes with SiteGround Optimizer, you need to temporary disable your other website plugins one-by-one, while refreshing the SiteGround Optimizer Settings page after each deactivated plugin. There is no need to delete any of your website plugins.

    Once you find the problematic plugin, please provide us the name of the plugin and we will further investigate this abnormal behavior.

    Best Regards,

    Tsvetan Mitev
