In reply to: [Sticky Menu & Sticky Header] Do not stick element when screen smaller than:Hi Mark
Thanks for the prompt reply on a holiday.
Still not sure if I am missing something. I understand the setting works on width not height. I do not understand why. Surely, given the objective of the plugin, height matters while width is totally irrelevant. Isn’t it? Why would the width matter?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Two Homes?!Thanks again. Good info.
I don’t think I want to get involved with the permalinks directly as in the first link.
I assume if I use the plugin in the second link I would have to alter the url for all my top level child pages. Only three at the mo but it could be one more thing to go wrong with updates and so on.
Will probably go with a new page as the home page directing to the current home as an overview. Probably far more readable anyway!
Closing the thread as good solution has been provided.

In reply to: Two Homes?!Thanks.
(Yes, I think the style of the site requires a static front page.)
Leaving this as unresolved in case anyone has some magic which creates what I want!Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Magazine Basic] 100% width for text on pagesThank you so much.
I was looking at those class values but could not see a way to set them in the code. (I guess I should have tried just making class c10 into 100% but of course that is just going to get removed with each update.) (I am now installing jetpack so I can add custom css properly but was a bit committed to getting things working right first.)
Learning WordPress seems a bit of a steep learning curve, but supportive help like this from members makes it very doable.

In reply to: 100% width for text on all pagesThanks, but that is 85%.
Yes, there are no sidebar widgets, but it is still not using all the width of the page.SOLVED
The answer to the query in case anyone else is having difficulty is simple (so simple I cannot now imagine how I missed it!)Change
[ngg_images gallery_ids=”1″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_slideshow” gallery_width=”600″ gallery_height=”400″]
to
[ngg_images gallery_ids=”1″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails” gallery_width=”600″ gallery_height=”400″]
Thanks. I have gone through this looking for settings. The settings in the relevant pages describe very clearly how to alter settings in each type of gallery. But I cannot find out how to switch the default gallery from one type to the other.
I have only just been handed the management of this site, so I have no idea how it was inserted. If this can be told from the interface, please let me know that, but that is not something I have been able to discover either.I have just taken the site over.
Thanks. But how?! I have searched high and low, and googled, and can find no setting or declaration of type. There are of course sections for both NextGEN Basic Thumbnails and NextGEN Basic Slideshow, but I cannot find where to select the default.
