So I ended up backing everything up and reinstalling wordpress manually. This fixed the TinyMCE or JS or whatever it was, error. There’s still a site design issue I’m dealing with, but I’m thinking that’s related to Thesis at this point. I have at least eliminated the “failed to load plugin” error.

I downloaded TinyMCE Advanced after I started getting the error, thinking it would help me fix it. But I haven’t figured out what to do with it yet, so it’s installed but unused.

just did it and I got the same error again: “wplink from url https://duanedefour.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wplink/plugin.min.js”

so it seems that wplink is missing or something? Perhaps I should try reinstalling that plugin?

that actually isn’t showing up in my list of plugins. Perhaps it was installed at some point? I’ll look and see if I can find remnants of it in my WP files.

I may have missed a few versions before updating to 4.9.4 but I can’t remember off hand which version. I don’t think it’s a Thesis issue because the problems exist even when I’m not using Thesis. But are you suggesting I try reinstalling wordpress then?

Just tried that. Nothing seems to be different. Getting the same js errors as before.

I’ve done health check before (and just ran it again) and everything’s got a green checkmark except this:

Thanks. I’m working on the HTTPS/HTTP errors. Those I have an idea how to fix. But I don’t know how to fix the js issues.

jibbius thank you! Turning off FastCGI seems to have been part of the solution. I also discovered as I turned plugins back on that W3 Total cache was also causing an issue.

All posts are loading normally, however I’m having trouble uploading images to the media library. I get a HTTP error each time. I’m hoping this isn’t a connected issue… I’ll look that issue up but thank you for helping me solve this vexing problem!

jibbius I tried your suggestion on 2 different posts with long slugs. Sadly it didn’t fix the problem on either post. I’ve requested more error logs from Dreamhost and as I said I’ll post them ASAP.

so far that’s all they’ve sent from the error logs. I just requested more so we’ll see what else they send me. I’ll post what I can. In the meantime I’ll give your post slug suggestion a try now.

But they didn’t seem to know what to do with that, and neither do I. I’m not sure what’s missing and how they suddenly went missing. Nothing changed before the error suddenly started.

Hi I’m having the same issue on multiple browsers (firefox, safari, chrome). I followed all the instructions (turning off all plug-ins, changing to 2011 theme, etc). Things finally started working when I turned on the script debugging as suggested in the troubleshooting steps. The problem is, as soon as I turned off debugging the add media button stopped working again. Is there an issue with leaving debugging on?
