In reply to: Adsense on free wordpressYou can’t have adsense right now under any circumstance with blogs that are free on wordpress.com. The CSS upgrade just lets you change the style, but nothing else. Afraid not!

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Behaving BadlyIt really was dirtdevl with a small “loophole” that the author overlooked in the past version. He acknowledged the problem quickly and released a new version. For anyone that was using the plugin and subscribed to his updates, they were down only a matter of hours. People make mistakes and a wide statement recommending no one use it seems harsh to me. I have used this plugin since the beginning and other than 6 hours it took me to update my plugin, no issues what-so-ever.
I think that it was a small mistake. Everyone makes those and it is not something that we should jump conclusions to. That is my 2 cents anyways, but everyone has their opinions. ??

In reply to: CSS bgcolor issueI don’t have it on this machine, but https://getfirebug.com is an extension for firefox that tells you specifically what CSS is used when you click on a part of a “live” website. Something to look into maybe!
Are you editing both CSS sheets referenced?
/themes/hemingway/style.css
/themes/hemingway/styles/white.cssAs well, is the grey coming from a table or a CSS div?

In reply to: Podpress player issue – it’s playing my MP3 files in a fast speed! It could have been resolved by the original poster without further explanation. Usually, from my understanding, the “flash players” of the world can sometimes have problems with mp3’s that are not encoded with high enough sample rate (less than 44.1 KHz for example). Try compressing the file with a higher sample rate?

In reply to: CSS bgcolor issueDoesn’t that theme have a repeating image as the background? Search your CSS for a background image maybe?

In reply to: Presentation Link is not workingLooking at the tags to this thread and your “link love” at the bottom, I wonder if you are more interested in driving traffic than fixing your problem. Besides that, a more detailed description would be needed to help you with this problem….errors, etc…

In reply to: Remove Annoying MessageMight not be the best way, but in the language translation file for your install, it has all the translations. Edit your file and search for those terms and erase that comment so it says nothing? Maybe that will work.

In reply to: WordPress.com > www.remarpro.com import problemsMake sure you have the right permissions on the wp-content directory that it is writable by the server. It seems like it doesn’t have the right “write” permissions ??

In reply to: Google ImageMy understanding is google indexes the file through the post now into google images. I saw some dramatic increases in referrals from google images in the past week, so I am not sure they just changed something or what they did, but my images are now getting indexed more.

Did you check the xml file to see if the post are actually in there? If so, try the following (personal experience), delete the post out of the xml file that is causing the imports to stop. Which one is that? The post right after the last one that is imported. Try that and recreate that post manually if need be.

In reply to: let .com point to .orgStaff at wp.com has stated that they don’t allow wordpress.com blogs to be redirected. Best bet is just post the new URL on your old blog and start using the new one. That is why many people use the domain name on that service in case they do decide to change hosts.
