It looks like it’s not only the bandwidth that’s an issue, but memory requirements in the browser. Firefox and Chrome are eating 2GB or more ever time I try to “Add Images”. I’m assuming it’s because the Media Library tries to load every image available and display them. I’ve been having browser crashes on systems that don’t have enough memory to handle this kind of a load and on the ones that can, performance is taking a serious hit for any operation (changing tabs, changing the displayed images (filtering), even scrolling).
