I investigated a little further. That box was unchecked, so that wasn’t it. What was actually happening was when I clicked nofollow for one link, it worked fine. But the next link I edited would already have the nofollow box checked when I clicked ‘Edit.’ So I mistakenly thought the link was already changed to nofollow. By switching over to the text editor I found that the link was a follow link unless I left that box checked and click save.
Maybe that will make some sort of sense? Anyway, it does work.
Just wanted to reply that I found the answer! It was some error that was happening on my “creative commons license” that I had added to the footer of my page. It had a link for my site, traveldevoted.com , but the license would take my homepage url and stick it on the end of the page url. No idea if this is making sense, but it might help someone in the future. Also, someone recommended to me to use this site to check for broken links and it was super helpful, it will even show you the source code and exactly where the error is.
Hey I went to the GeneratePress support forum and got it all worked out. Turns out I just needed to clear the W3 plugin cache. I had deleted it a few days ago, went ahead and reinstalled it, hit clear cache, boom. Fixed.
Thank you for your help!
I think that did the trick. Can anyone verify?
I tried it on my mobile, which had been having problems and it showed up with the header image as above which is perfect!
Thanks!
Thank you for your help Leo! I actually deleted W3 Plugin a few days ago when I first realized what was going on. It was Inactive for a long time before I did so. I never really understood what it was doing.
This is the landing page. The blog posts are down under the big header image.- This reply was modified 8 years ago by traveldevoted.
Thanks for the help. I just can’t seem to find what’s wrong. I have set to no static page, and to show my latest posts. Within the WordPress Customizer it shows exactly as I see it on my computer (how I want it to look), but I guess that’s not what it looks like to anyone else.
I even just tried to login to the GeneratePress forum with my username and now it just giving a blank page with the word error on it.
Frustrating.
Yes I have. I changed that setting when I deleted the static page.
As I said it’s been working great on the computer so I didn’t even realize that on mobile it wouldn’t show up properly. I’m wondering if it could be my cached memory, even though I cleared it.
Could you try to view it on your computer and mobile and just verify that it is different? That would be awesome.
