In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Title no longer visibleI have been poking around between my two sites that use twenty twenty two to see if I can explain why one is having this issue, it is truly confusing me!
@zoonini do you have any idea why the header would behave differently on the homepage than on other pages?
(I tagged you here because you have been super helpful with other issues I have had!)
Thank you!

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Title no longer visibleHi and thanks for your response!
Yes, the reason I am asking is because my template settings seem to be set correctly for what I want.
Here are some images of my settings so you can see what I mean. The additional css I mentioned above, I tried and then deleted it when it didn’t work. You can see the additional css I have now via the same link as the settings.
I am baffled ??

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Layout broken since updateI am having similar issues. I think they changed the container size of the navigation. Or something similar.
I was able to fix it on my end by changing some css in the customizer, with help I received in this thread.
Though I am still having issues with the menu on a phone screen.
Site Editor still has the beta flag on it… we are probably in for a few more wonky updates, I imagine!
Yes, I use custom css with the customizer.
I changed the code and yes, that worked. Thank you!
Is it possible that the navigation container size changed with the last update? Because up until then, the previous code was fine.On the other note, with the mobile menu, I checked again and the X is there, only it was hiding on me. The menu size is wider than my phone screen, so in order to see the x, I have to swipe to the right.
This is also a new development, since the update to 6.1.You can see what I mean in these screenshots.
Thanks again for your help!
and one last (maybe ?? ) thing – there is no way to close the menu on mobile without actually selecting a menu item i.e. there is no x or close or other way to get rid of the menu.
A little more information:
This seems to depend on screen size, when I make the browser smaller, the line reaches the sides of the container (which is probably why it reacts as expected in the customizer.)
Poking around the header template – there is a new section called Dimensions / block spacing attached to the navigation block. I set the spacing to 1 and got the items all on one line again but the top border still doesn’t reach the sides.

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Additional CSS and JSWhen I installed jetpack, the link to the customizer returned to the Appearance label on the sidebar.

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] twenty twenty-two blog pageGlad it worked out!

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] twenty twenty-two blog pageYou can modify the blog page template.
Go to appearance/editor
Then toggle navigation on the left side and choose Templates.
Choose the template you need to modify. You can see which template the blog page is using by editing the blog post/page and looking for that in the right hand column (under page, not block).

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Login/out block in Navigation menuAlternatively, could you just add a link to the navigation menu with the title ‘Login’ and the link pointing to the login page?

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Navigation No permission & missing menuStrangely, they used my username and password to access.
That is some good info. If it works on their end, it makes me think something on your end is denying permission. There may be anti-virus software or some other security software getting in the way… (I have heard bitdefender can be an issue at times, do you use that?)

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Navigation No permission & missing menuI just had a thought – is it at all possible that you are logged in with a different email / user name than the one that was used to set up the site?
You can check this info under Users – is the login you are using set as administrator?
Sometimes when installing wordpress via installation software (like Softaculous, it will automatically create a strange admin email address based on the domain ie – [email protected]
I am not sure if this would affect the permissions thing, but maybe it’s worth a try checking out the emails associated with you as a user (under Users) and again as admin (under Settings > General).
You mentioned that the support at your hosting company could access areas you can’t without issues. Maybe this is the reason.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Navigation No permission & missing menuSometimes it needs time – go have a coffee / tea, go for a walk, then restart your computer and see if it helps. Sometimes I give up and then when I start again the next day, it works.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the header file you were working on was still pointing to a cache somewhere…
Good luck (and good on you for sticking with it!!).Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Navigation No permission & missing menuI don’t know anything about that plugin but for sure if you created menus with it, they rely on the plugin for them to work. So if you are happy with how things are working with the plugin, then I’d say keep it. But if ever the plugin is no longer compatible or stops working for you, just know that you have to recreate your menus.
Each time you uninstalled the plugin… did you clear your cache? Not clearing your cache could be responsible for the inconsistent access to things. When I am making a lot of changes to a site, I generally view the site in different incognito windows or different browsers altogether to get a real time view of things that aren’t skewed by my cache.
Also, if ever you want to totally get rid of that plugin, it may be that you need to delete its menus beforehand so that you can really start fresh. Plugins can sometimes be messy.
I’m glad its working for you now!

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Navigation No permission & missing menuI don’t know anything about that plugin. It could be that the menu was somehow originally created within the scope of that plugin so if I were you, I’d try creating a new menu by adding the menu pages manually (that is what I do. Whenever I want to add a page to the menu, I add it to the nav block.)
Or I believe that you can create a new menu directly from the nav block. I think I tried doing that at first but realized that adding things manually just worked better for me.
I think this might have been what I used as a reference when I was building my menu at first. https://www.wpxpo.com/wordpress-menu-customization-in-twenty-twenty-two-theme/
