Thanks a ton for your help in guiding me in the right direction.
I did notice mixed content warnings but wasn’t really sure.
As you suggested, I have now installed a plugin called SSL Insecure Content and it worked like a charm.
The customize page is now loading fine and the mixed content issue appears to be resolved.
