In reply to: Cannot login or access dashboard after WP update to 4.4Otto,
Yes, the wp-admin directory exists in all instances.
I’m not sure what the normal permissions are.
Can you tell me where I find them nd what they should be?
Thank you.

In reply to: Cannot login or access dashboard after WP update to 4.4These ARE NOT MULTISITE WordPress Installations. They are 7 separate installations.
I do not have Cloudfare installed.
Actually, I cannot login to any of the sites I upgraded using the “domainname.com/wp-admin” link.
The few that had WP-User Control plugin installed to place a login section on the main page allow me to login using that feature, but none of the seven sites allows me to login through the Wp-Admin page.
So…on my WordPress sites that don’t have the WP User Control plugin installed and activated, I cannot log in.
Since I cannot login, I cannot install, activate and using Widgets, place the plugin to let me login.
I can FTP the plugin to the other sites, but since I cannot login, I cannot activate and configure it. A real Catch-22. Can’t login to add a plugin necessary for me to login!
Any help would be appreciated.

In reply to: Cannot login or access dashboard after WP update to 4.4I just updated 7 WordPress sites to 4.4 and now I cannot login to any of them.
They were all working fine before the upgrade.

In reply to: Cannot drag and drop widget in WP 3.3.1I’m an experienced WordPress user with more than 20 blogs, and have found that I cannot drag and drop widgets in WP 3.3.1 with PHP 5.1 (that’s what GoDaddy installed for this WP) and my computing platform is. OS X 10.6.8.
All of my other blogs have WordPress 3.3 and I can drag and drop in them just fine.

In reply to: Directory Script for WordPressI agree with retroin, Gouri and woolfcom.
It is NOT free.
It has poor design from visual and readability point-of-view.
I paid for and installed DirectoryPress, only to discover that it does NOT work as they promised and their support is awful. I do not recommend DirectoryPress.
It’s clunky and it does not do what they promise.
DirectoryPress WILL NOT HELP you modify the script. They won’t even tell you which of the hundreds of pages of code hold the code you want to change. But they advertise that it is fully modify-able.
I wasted months trying to get it to work well, but finally gave up.
I’m currently looking for another directory script (either wordpress based or standalone) that works well for a directory of brick-and-mortar stores.
I don’t want to do a link directory and I prefer to have a directory that can disable the feature for people to submit listings randomly.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Themes not workingI have a similar problem. I have a WordPress blog installed at https://professorgrow.com. It is installed at the root, not in a separate folder. I created a mySQL database for it. I have been running it fine since February.
I decided to try a different theme. I downloaded a theme called “Structure” that is a child of a theme called “Hybrid.” I followed their directions exactly — downloaded and installed (but did not activate) Hybrid. Then downloaded and installed Structure. It said for me to activate Structure only, which I did.
Now I cannot see my site at all!
I cannot even get into admin to fix the problem.
I used FTP to delete Hybrid and Structure from my wp-content/themes folder, thinking it would cause my site to revert to default theme and let me into admin to activate the theme I had been using, but I still cannot see my site!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
