1.) Login to your admin account
2.) Select Options
3.) Select Base Settings
4.) Set the line users_can_register to false
Voila! You’re done.

Can someone tell me how to solve this issue? I tried turning all the pings and comments on via
update wp_posts set comment_status=’open’;
update wp_posts set ping_status=’open’;
and they are open, but my missing entries haven’t returned.
