    Hello, Matomo team,

A few months ago, I moved schornsteinfeger-fuers-eichsfeld.de to a different hosting company. Some time later, I noticed that Matomo’s reports were blank, all zeroes. I completely uninstalled the plugin, re-installed and set it up from scratch 3 days ago, but I’m still getting zeroes:

    Reports screen: https://paste.pics/R5BA9
    Visitor overview: https://paste.pics/R5BJ6
    System report: https://pastebin.com/gvJU6BHC

Meanwhile, I have multiple other websites running Matomo on the same hosting. For example, on sn-translations.de it is working just fine:

    Reports screen: https://paste.pics/R5BB3
    System report: https://pastebin.com/NK2GyUWG

The Matomo system reports of both websites look vastly similar to me, with the same two warnings (which I can do nothing about on shared hosting). Both websites also have very similar plugin stacks and they’re both running the GeneratePress Pro theme.

    Plugin stack schornsteinfeger-fuers-eichsfeld.de: https://paste.pics/R5BCN
    Plugin stack sn-translations.de: https://paste.pics/R5BCX

I disabled caching on schornsteinfeger-fuers-eichsfeld.de 3 days ago to ensure it wasn’t messing with Matomo.

    What am I missing?

    Best regards,
    Matt.

Hi @mrmatteastwood it looks like tracking isn’t functioning properly on that website. I see tracking requests being sent to Matomo, but they are failing with a 403 unauthorized response. I don’t see an obvious reason why.

    Can you try the following:

    • In Matomo Analytics > Settings > Tracking, enable debug tracking via the “Tracker Debug Mode” setting.
    • Open the website, accept cookies so tracking requests will be sent, then look at the output of a tracking request via the developer tools. (If you are not able or comfortable doing this, let me know in an email (see below)).
    • Then disable debug tracking again.

Then send the response of the tracking request to dizzy (at) innocraft (dot) com. (Or let me know if you’re unable to do this and we can try something else.)

Thanks Dizzy, I just sent you an e-mail from matt at brandartery dot com. ??

Massive props to Dizzy here. They helped me solve the problem through thorough investigation and in a highly professional and friendly manner. For anybody interested: I had the pipe “|” character in my website’s title as a separator and All in One Security was blocking requests sent to Matomo because it they contain that character. Disabling “Block query strings” in All in One Security’s 6G firewall settings solves the issue.

Thanks for the kind words, and glad Matomo’s working again! I’ll mark this issue as resolved.
