Thanks for clarification. This will be quite useful to others. I have 2 other questions:

1.) Do you provide customization work? Like, if we wanted to customize the WordPress search or another search bar to query Connections-related fields (i.e. business name, category, phone number, etc.?

2.) Is there a way to query by zip code/postal code (and surrounding zip codes)?

This worked for me also. Added to functions.php

In my scenario, this is a fresh WordPress / BuddyPress install and I only have custom plugins and theme options.

To address this issue, can I use this to remove the data instead?
1. use phpMyAdmin to EMPTY all BuddyPress-related tables
2. Use the Users area (/wp-admin/users.php) to bulk delete the fake users?

Will the above effectively remove all demo content on an unused Buddy Press installation?

Couldn’t you tweak a function to simply select all users with the demo email addresses and delete all data based on that?

Does it also delete all plugins and themes?

Does this also delete pages and posts unrelated to BuddyPress that you’ve built? (If the author of the pages/posts is the very first admin.)

Essentially, the plugin author fails to tell you that it does NOT include a search feature whatsoever unless you purchase an add-on of some sort.
