I’m looking for an existing plugin or block that can do the job.

Fixed: I needed to install the Gutenberg plugin to activate Editor Plus. Apparently it is now compatible with the core Gutenberg.

I am testing on a live server. I’ve tried disabling all plugins and switching to the default theme. Still won’t activate. I’ve also tried deleting the plugin and re-installing a fresh copy. No luck.

I found a fix: disable the WordPress AMP plugin.

Update: I found a solution to add blocks to the tag/category description.

    1) Install the “HTML in Category Descriptions” plugin.
    2) Open new post/page to get to the Gutenberg editor.
    3) Create the design you want.
    4) Switch to the “Code” view.
    5) Copy the code.
    6) Paste into description text area for category or tag.

By “custom tag” I mean something along the lines of “tag-{slug}.php”. The difference is to create a three-column display for important posts I’d like to feature. It seems the Gutenberg block editor would do the trick. However, from scanning the codex, I may need to create something static in the tag.

Interesting. However, I was hoping to find a way to create, perhaps, a tag.html in the experimental block-based theme — or a suitable plugin. Thanks.

I’m aware of add_query_arg() but haven’t seen a working example (I’m more of a content person) to emulate. I’d like to be able to accomplish this through the back-end (submitting it to a custom URL or a redirect plugin.

    Thanks for the lead.

The Site Kit dashboard widget (as well as the admin menu items) appeared after I changed the URLs to http and then logged out/logged back in.

    Thanks for the assist.

@jamesosborne I’ve added to an existing Site Kit support topic ‘Can’t Get Past “Sign-in with Google”‘.

I’m using the AMP plugin’s Analytics tab.

I’ve followed the troubleshooting steps. I’ve disabled all non-default plugins. I’ve tried install SiteKit using the “private window” suggestion. I’ve switched my active theme to 2019. No luck.

Site Health is “Good” with no critical issues. The SiteKit installation process gets to the “success” message and creates a Dashboard option. However, selecting the Dashboard admin option goes back to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-splash .

Not sure what else can be done.

@reneesoffice I loved Google Site Kit when it was working.

The problem is the plugin keeps looping from “Start Setup” to “Start Setup.”

    1) After selecting “Start Setup” I select my Google account.
    2) I give the plugin access and it says “go to your dashboard.”
    3) I go to my Site Kit dashboard and it says “Sign in to Google to configure SiteKit.”

To solve the problem, I’ve chosen “Reset SiteKit” and remove authorization for SiteKit. All with the same result.

@bcworkz : Thanks, but flipboard is only an example of my goal. Another is how google was using a redirect, instead of a direct link:

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=19&ved=0CHUQFjAIOAo&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwebapps.stackexchange.com%2F&ei=jNV0T4a0EYTw0gGkxsX_Ag&usg=AFQjCNFUKoDTez5xOnJZaRkn0OLZIclKtQ&sig2=siQi9Rk3h_zHwaNC2n_MMg

Essentially, you click on a search link, google redirects to the website.
