In reply to: Unable to login, get multiple wp-settings errorsJames,
User Registration was the very first thing I turned off once I got logged in. That was actually the most important goal for me.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login, get multiple wp-settings errorsThanks James! Problem solved.
Replaced all files except wp-config.php and wp-content folder. Got logged into wp-admin panel, deleting 145 bogus users accounts. And deleting spam comments.
I didn’t think about just replacing all the files except content and settings. It definitely did need updating. I learned a long time ago that WP is very easy to break, so I was afraid to mess with too many files. But your suggestion did work. Much appreciated.

In reply to: Unable to login, get multiple wp-settings errorsHave tried renaming each theme folder one by one. But still get the wp-settings error messages and no admin panel when logging in. Next, I will try replacing all files except wp-config.php and wp-content folder.
Funny, since I first posted this problem, I have gotten a lot of new user registrations and comments. Appears hackers are watching these threads. Makes sense, since vulnerabilities are revealed here.

Looks like part of my original post got cut off. I have already tried manually resetting plugins, but that produced the same error messages, with a few more errors along with it.I will try your other suggestions now.

In reply to: [Plugin: Sociable] Will Not Display the PicsUsing WP 2.7.1 The last two updates of Sociable have gotten worse and worse. This last update shows a vertical list; instead of the Horizontal list that we used to have. And, this time, there are no images.
Never had a problem til now. Tried lots of other plugins of this type in the past, and Sociable is definitely my choice. Not so sure now.
I hate to complain about a free plugin, but it used to be such a good plugin. I’d pay if I had to. I hate to start looking again for another plugin. Maybe an patch or another update might come along pretty quick. Will Disable for now. Not worth the time to go in and make my own changes to the code. One purpose of plugins is so we don’t have to continually edit code to get a specific functionality. That way, we can spend our valuable time on other activities.

In reply to: Trouble w/Zemantaearthlydream,
Yes, Zemanta does some strange things. It is a great concept, but the Zemanta plugin seems to be very unstable. I use it on a few different blogs and continually have to fight with it. At first, I thought maybe there was just a “learning curve” involved. But, it is just the plugin causing problems.
As for your column problems, have you tried de-activating or un-installing the Zemanta plugin to see if that solves the problem. If that doesn’t do the trick, then look closely at the code around where you had placed the pic you described. It only takes one small character out of place to break a wordpress blog. WP is about as forgiving as Internet Explorer.
Don’t mean to sound negative; WP is still a great platform. I would hate to have to go back to building static HTML sites.

In reply to: Unable to retrieve passwordThanks for trying to help. I appreciate the effort.
The first line of my post said: “Trying to retrieve my password for www.remarpro.com.”
I realize my own blog is not part of www.remarpro.com.
I am referring to the URL
https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
that asks for my www.remarpro.com username and password. My username
tommylinsley is recognized and an email is supposed to be sent to my email address. I don’t honestly recall which address is associated with
my username, but I check all of my email addresses and don’t seem to
find the password email. Perhaps I’ve overlooked the message. It may
help to have www.remarpro.com tell me what email is registered for me.
That way I could narrow my search for the new password. Thanks for the help,
Tommy Linsley.
