Same issue here. NextGen 1.7.4 w/ WP3.1, 755 doesn’t work, 777 does (but is not secure)

am filling up the necessary fields and trying out..
I too can’t get the file upload to work..

I can select a file, and that’s about it. Shouldn’t there be a upload button, or does the selected file get upload on ‘saving’ the post.. ?

Anyway, when I look back at the post, the custom field for ‘file’ isn’t set at all.

was as simple as:
https://USERNAME:[email protected]/folder/filename.htm

??? How did I pull it off before then ?

Ok, gonna hack the template then, maybe do it by building a child theme, add a home.php template file or overwrite index.php

Yeah, but it’s the twentyten theme, and it has always been that way (excerpts instead of posts..)

How could that have changed ?

Starkers IS a bare bones theme.

Look at the index-file, take some of the selectors and start styling them (in CSS).

Maybe also take a look at a css-framework like Bluetrip, 960.gs or something ..

I’m gonna need something similar, thanks for the pointer Otto.

PODS is definitely THE best plugin for WP. Sure there’s room for improvement, or better documentation, but this thing makes WP so much more versatile. No more hassling with custom fields etc, but seperate tables with all kinds of data you want. Built in editors and uploaders etc.., magic tags etc..

And if you know PHP, this extends WP even further, endless possibilities.
