Thanks for your engagement with this migration. This is a very old install (~20 years) and proved to be a challenge. I wound up using a database export/migration plugin only, and moving wp-content folder manually into an existing base install. I dropped all the tables and imported the sql into the vanilla database with phpmyadmin. And I still had issues with the theme (Arclite) and had to change to a new one. I think the combination of all these factors led to the failure of this plugin to “just work” (Hostgator, large site-10G, age)
I appreciate your help. Perhaps in the future I will try again now that I’m off Hostgator.
Restore worked, sorta. Site came up, but theme sidebar wasn’t showing. Tried to change the theme and then the whole thing stopped working telling me a critical error had occurred. No amount of logging in or refreshing the page was successful. Had to restore the whole test bed from a backup. Back to the drawing board.

Well, using your direction above, this worked the first time! The only thing I didn’t do as you described above was the exclude files > 200mb option. I have some embedded videos throughout a 20 year old blog that I didn’t want to try and root out, at least for the first attempt. It completed the backup successfully. This particular site is about 10Gb. Now I need to pull all the parts down to the new server and see if I can do the restore.
What do you think was the “one” thing that fixed it? It sure would be nice to work with one file instead of ~23. I may try enabling the combination into one file option to see if that works.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Happy New Year,
Tom
Thanks for your reply! I am traveling the rest of this week, but will give this a try this weekend and report back.
So after letting it go, it restarted after 5 minutes, then hung again for about 5 minutes. Then it ran for 5 minutes and has been stuck for ~35 in the backup_merge process. ??
