I have a similar problem. I changed the homepage title in the SEO-Search Appearance-General but I cannot see it in Google search. BTW, the meta-description works fine, it’s just the homepage meta title. When I looked in the page source, I see Yoast plugin in the code but it did not overwrite the WordPress general site homepage title – view-source:https://www.allinallspace.com/so-how-and-when-can-you-buy-an-autonomous-car/
