Thanks a ton! I’ll do all those things. I also found what I think is the culprit for this particular glitch.

Seems the next to last post had a lot of extra formatting code in it: here’s an example that I copied from the “edit Code” feature of the editor:

<p align=”left”>The #103 low angle block plane. I use this plane every day. It’s short and gets into tight places.</p>
<p align=”left”>After you get your surface planed down a little more, hit a few more screws.</p>

I removed the <p align=”left”> and the </p> tags and everything was wonderful again. Go figure.

Still, good advice about the length of the index page and size of the pics. I’ll take care of that.

    Dom,
How did you fix this problem? You mentioned that you fixed it, but not how.
    Thanks,

My solution is a bit of a workaround, but it’s working at any rate. I got a Flikr photo account, and I downloaded the Flok browser which has a blogging module. Flok allows me to batch upload to my Flikr account (and even gives me options for re-sizing photos as I go), and then I can drag and drop from Flikr to the blogs I write. Not perfectly integrated, and the photos don’t end up living on the server where the rest of the blog is, but it seems to work pretty seamlessly, and it’s free.
It would still be nice to know how to get WP to see photos that it personally didn’t upload.
It would also be good to get suggestions from other members out there about photo uploading plugins that they like.

The hitch for me is once I get them ftp’d to my WordPress folder (in this case the Uploads folder) WP doesn’t find them to insert into posts. How do I make that last little connection?
