Same issue here, the bug cropped up 2 versions ago. Limiting to posts only still lists paginated homepage entries, aka page 2, 3. etc in the results. It appears to be a bug introduced recently that slipped through the cracks.
I wasn’t able to backup to 1.6.4 due to some other updates, so hoping this can get fixed next version.
