Wordfence found the following new issues on “The Taylor Group”.Alert generated at Friday 18th of April 2014 at 03:09:24 PM
Warnings:
* Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/readme.txt
I really love your plugin, I do, but would you mind terribly to start using the WP update process to modify/update your plugin. When you don’t, those of us that are running viable security applications get a TON of alarms on our sites when authors update this plugin remotely using what I am guessing is an executable script within your plugin.
Many, many thanks for all you do!

In reply to: [Antispam Bee] Modified plugin files without update!I’m so glad to have found this issue on the forum. I’m at my wits end trying to keep up with plugin updates. Even the ones correctly updated through WordPress.
How is it that any plugin publisher can get away with this? I just go in and restore the original files, because I have no indication of what’s been changed.
Please help!
Many thanks for your support.Same here. Thanks all.

Robert Rogers (07:36:46 am) :
Good morning.
Robert Rogers (07:37:16 am) :
We currently use Online Backup WordPress plugin. Looks like it is not supported. Is there a paid version available?
Technician (07:38:05 am) :
Hi Robert, as it is a free WordPress plugin that we offer, there is no support via telephone or email. The forum should be checked on a regular basis.
Robert Rogers (07:39:03 am) :
Yes, we have been without backups for about two weeks now. Many many users are having the same problem. The last time we had the problem, Backup Technology found that WordPress backups were all failing.
Robert Rogers (07:39:31 am) :
Can this be looked at again or is there a paid version? We are in desperate need of backups.
Technician (07:41:05 am) :
There isn’t a paid version. I will raise a case internally and see if I can get someone to check up on the forum and see if they can help or offer any advice. In all honesty, I can’t really help with any WordPress issues.
Robert Rogers (07:41:49 am) :
I appreciate that very much. So Backup Technology does not offer a backup service at all?
Robert Rogers (07:42:03 am) :
It’s on an Apache server owned by iPage.
Technician (07:42:46 am) :
We do but the backup service we offer is for large companies and enterprises who are looking to protect multiple TBs of data.
Technician (07:43:24 am) :
Thank you for the details. I’ll include this and see if I can get someone to take a look.
Robert Rogers (07:43:43 am) :
Thank you SO much. We really do appreciate your time.
Technician (07:44:05 am) :
No problem. Have a great day.Additionally, as a stop-gap, when performing a local encrypted backup, then downloading it, Online Backup randomly decides whether to save it as *.zip.enc or *.zip.
What has happened here? Any ideas for a more reliable plugin?
Thanks.
Wow! I’ve got updates to make, but don’t dare do them until I have a current backup.
Is anybody out there listening?
Thanks, Paul.
Have you ever had any notification from the plugin? We don’t ever seem to know anything is wrong unless we happen to stumble upon it. :/
The activity failed: The connection to your blog failed. This may be a temporary failure or your blog may not be accessible over the internet. Please try again later.
Also, is there a notification process that can occur when these backups fail? We sometimes don’t know about failures for months.
Thanks again!
Good morning.
We have been experiencing the same error again. Many of our sites are showing:
