I only can say we had an issue in trunk folder that Plugin content was in sub folder /trunk/trunk/plugin content, which was fixed 5 hours before fogelfish wrote.

you can install the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin where you can activate plugins one by one, without changing the live site.

I do not know the DB tables and would not recommend to alter the DB.

please try again with the latest styler version and do a screencast of the progress, so if it fails again you can share the video and we can fix the issue.
