I’m going to just re-write the site since I actually cannot gain access to the original host anymore. Thought I could, sadly I cannot.

When I open the BM_Backup zip file (sorry for saying .rar, it was a .zip) – The root is only wordpress, no other folder, once in the wordpress folder it contains the various files like .well-known, wp-admin etc. So I think that’s me out of luck then?

The site was migrated from one host to another (squarespace to bluehost), and in the process of doing so it got all messed up, so I nuked it and went to reinstall / upload everything again. I have login info and can still access the old host account, maybe I can try contacting them and see if they can somehow help?

As for why I waited? First time migration error I guess, never done this before.

If there’s nothing else you can do, then thank you for your time and patience. Lesson learnt.

I have a real problem with this though, the site hosting was just transferred so I no longer have access to the original site that was backed up. All I have right now is the backup file that the plugin generated on my local computer (that I can access and see there’s all the pictures and the structure is similar).

Have I just nuked my company’s site and relied on a broken backup file this entire time thinking it was going to restore without issue? Is there any way to modify of salvage part of the site using the downloaded backup I have?

It said the backup was a success, so I downloaded the file and the log … both I have.

Tried using your temp site creator https://tastewp.com/ to upload the backup there, but the same exact error occurred. Any help here would be great!
