if i uncheck Dashboard → Settings → Media I do not have Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders – what will happen with the files i uploaded before?

I rememeber when i did similar thing with post names – wp changes all my page links which create for me a lot of problems as ALL my links became invalid )))))
