Hello, yes. I also find that the Pro version works fine when:

1) Jetpack disabled or
2) Jetpack enabled but not logged in to WordPress.com

It does not appear at all (not even shortcode) with Jetpack enabled & logged in to WordPress.com

I can’t quite seem to get it.

If I put

<a href="<?php get_category_feed_link( $cat_id, $feed ); ?>">rss</a>

It just brings up a link to the category, not a link to the feed.
